Zebra Corp. Zebra was founded as Ishikawa Pen Manufacture Company in 1896. It was changed to Zebra Co. Ltd, the present name, in 1963. It is the first manufacturer to produce ball-point pens in Japan The first ball-point pen in Japan, No. 5911, went on sale at 1959. Now, it still produces ball-point pens for Japanese people.
